With 15 years of music industry expertise, donning the credential of being one of Kanye West’s first artist and working closely with the likes of No ID, Jermaine Dupri, Cash Money Records, and Coach K, Chicago native Mikkey Halsted and his family founded one of the top-10 grossing fast casuals in the world, LiteHouse Whole Food Grill. One day, while busy in their kitchen, his brother Rico wondered how burgers and wings would taste with their amazing house seasonings and home created sauces. This eventually spawned a weekly staff “cheat day” where they would cook the most amazing burgers, wings, fries, and even created delectable milk shakes beyond their expectations. One day, the owner of the building walked in and asked if they had any other restaurant concepts. Rico quickly answered, “of course…a burger, wing, shake spot. All natural ingredients, vegan options and all the favorites  Chicago is known for like Italian Beef.” The building owner loved the idea and thus Mikkey’s Retro Grill was founded.

Named after Mikkey Halsted, a true Renaissance man and neighborhood hero. Who, with a Masters in Education, mentors countless youth, is a major culture creator and industry executive, all while teaching God’s word and managing to be a wonderful husband and father.

Welcome to the New Mikkey’s Retro Grill. Where Old school meets New school flavor.
